FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
CalendarGo - Add Calendaring Capabilities to Your .NET Programs
March 24th 2004 - ComponentGo company announces release of version 2.2 of CalendarGo calendaring component for .NET. CalendarGo makes it easy to add professionally looking, Outlook-like calendars to your applications royalty-free.
Different sorts of software would benefit from a built-in calendar. Not a simple date picker, but a full-featured calendar that would hold enough text to describe your appointments adequately and display them in a visually attractive way. From a programmer’s point of view access to source code is also desirable. Enter CalendarGo, filling these requirements for a .NET platform and Microsoft Visual Studio.
“Calendaring components available are trivial or too expensive” – said Ernest Boron, a developer from a CalendarGo team. “As a developer I want to get as much functionality as I can, while people at the finance department will hesitate before spending hundreds of dollars on a component that may add significantly to a user experience, but not core functionality of an application. CalendarGo is ‘simple, but not too simple’ using Einstein’s words, certainly affordable, fully programmable and extensible”.
CalendarGo is fully managed code written in 100% C#, seamlessly integrates with Visual Studio and can be used from any CLR language. Calendars can display any number of days differentiating workdays from weekends and working hours from non-working hours using separate colors. Appointments can be marked as whole-day. All aspects of a calendar’s appearance can be controlled including size, border colors, selected day and appointment color, working and non-working hour color, the first and the last working hour and granularity of time displayed (from 1 hour to 5 minutes). CalendarGo is now version 2.2. The demo now shows how to store/ retrieve data to/from an ADO.NET dataset. The function locating the appointment after a given datetime was added.
CalendarGo comes in two versions. CalendarGo Standard is a compiled DLL while CalendarGo Pro includes full source code. A source code of an application demonstrating the use of CalendarGo is included in both versions.
CalendarGo 2.2 is a calendaring component for .NET. Written in managed C# it is seamlessly integrated with Visual Studio.NET. With a minimum of programmer’s work it provides a .NET application with Outlook-like calendars.
